A bartender’s primary role is to serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests at a venue. Bartenders are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the bar and surrounding area, restocking beverages, restocking straws and garnishes, replenishing bar snacks, and ensuring all bar equipment is working properly. Bartenders process cash and credit payments (if applicable) of guests and provide the bar manager or business owner a report with a cash drop from their cash “bank” at the end of their shift. Bartenders assist in creating cocktail recipes and in full-service restaurants take and serve food orders.
